Mama Kins Club Boston,Mass Friday April 26

We ran through a very tight 40 minute set at Mama Kins in Boston. The club was great to play at. There was a very professional atmosphere in the air. It was quite possibly the best sound that we have ever had at a show. We did six songs from the CD, only leaving out "Won't Look Back" and "Two Way Street." We hung out after our show with a Brown alum, Steve Masarsky, who introduced us to Tim Collins, the manager of Aerosmith. We talked with Tim for a while and then caught then end of "Love Crush's" set. All in all the night was a great success.

The biggest surprise of the night was how smoothly the whole thing went. We arrived at Mama Kins (which is on the same street as the back of Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox) around 6:30, just in time for the traffic rush for the baseball game. But, surprisingly, we found a spot to park right in front of the club.

We just received a CD in the mail from Bucknell college. A group up there put together a compilation CD, and they included two of our songs, "Together" and "Live Insida You." It is a very good CD, with a nice mix of music on it. If anyone is interested in more information you can contact Dave Ledgerwood at 717-523-4750 or email at: ledgerwd@bucknell.edu.

The Underground Bar April 6

Andrews Basement was in fine form Saturday. The music was tight, and the performing has seldom been better. Sirsa, as has been par for the course lately, had an amazing performance. She sang well, played guitar on "If Things Were My Way", and strutted like the sixties in the cover of Sly & the Family Stone's "We Are Family."

Our list of cover songs to play has tripled in the last month, from one to three. A cover of the Dave Matthews song "Ants Marching" was added to the aforementioned "We Are Family", and Edie Brickell's "What I Am." "Ants Marching" was an exciting and fun song for us as a band, and the crowd's reaction was equally fulfilling.

We opened the night with "Next To Me", a crowd-response oriented song. Included in the first set were old staples "Living A Story" and "Together", along with two covers, "We Are Family" and "What I Am." Rounding out the first set were "Hey Jo", a ballad-ish type song in the make of "Feelin' It All Again", as well as the slow-fast-slow-fast-reggae ballad always dedicated to seniors "Let It Go," and a very exciting new song "Hard To Say."

We opened the second set with "Ants Marching", and followed that with a punch of our best stuff: "Let Me Go My Way," "I Know," "I'm For You," "All That She Wants," the insanely fun "If Things Were My Way." We closed our last set at the Underground with three tried and true favorites: "Feelin' It All Again", "Live Insida You," (also known as "Skip-Skop" at times), and "Shines Like The Sun."

Playing the song "Feelin' It All Again" on stage is always a great experience for me, but tonight was extra special. The lyrics to "Feelin' It All Again" were written by Sirsa about performing music. The line always hit home to me: "Do it 'cause I love it! and life keeps going on.. the sun always sets, the sun always sets after it rises.." That's the magic of this band for me. "See my smile.. best night of my life, but I look at myself and I'm still the same, as I always was.." Every show has been a great experience.

We as a band would like to thank the crowd at this show. It is indescribable to be on stage and to have people in the audience not only having fun and dancing, but singing along as well. We had this show videotaped as well, and the tape turned out very well. If anyone is interested in getting a copy just contact me! (Matt Smith)

The Underground Bar March 12

It was madness. No, really, our latest show, held at the Underground Bar was a little wild and crazy. As a band we had a fantastic time. The crowd was really amazing for a Tuesday night. The night started well and just kept on getting better. We opened with an extended jam on the opening chords of "Living A Story," one of the songs that we performed in our first show ever (at 95 Brown Street on December 8,1993.)

The night seemed to have everything, from a "topless exhibition," (apparenty dedicated to Ross) to Steph taking over for Sirsa during one of the songs. Being as it was Tuesday, the Underground was hosting "Chocolate with Cheese," an open mike forum for musicians from all around. There were some notable performances, such as Elanor Dubinsky's performance of "nothing but complications" and "mother hubbard." As well as Sirini popping in and playing with a few different musicians. The first band to follow "chocolate with cheese" was Slick Fifty, formerly called Adam Smash (well, for all of about 48 hours...). They were followed with a great "unplugged" performance from Tuesday Weld.

We took the stage to a well-sized crowd, and then started our jam on "Living A Story." Sirsa performed extremely well, despite feeling sick before the show. We debuted two new songs, "If Things Went My Way," and "Hard To Say." "What I Am," our only cover of the night (edie brickell) went well, as did our newish ballad, "Hey Jo." Lawrence broke a string on his guitar right before starting "All That She Wants," so he put down his ax and turned in a brilliant vocals-only performance. We closed the set with "Live Insida You," a song well-known for its skat chorus of "skip-skop scooby-doo wop du wop.." (or something like that.) It was around this time that the patrons of the Underground were witness to the "topless event." It was a.. uh... interesting sight.

We are looking forward to a huge month in April where we will be playing quite a few shows. We are at the Underground April 6, April 17 we will be at the Strand, sometime around then we are playing for "A Day on College Hill." We will be trying to hit our "big break" in Boston on April 26th or 27th at Mamakins (Aerosmiths club).
